Movie starts at 10:30pm at Bay Point Park in Red Wing

Two things you must do on July 4th.  Everybody watches fireworks and everyone watches the movie “Independence Day” Rated PG-13. You can do both at Bay Point Park in Red Wing, MN. Fireworks start at 10pm and the movie starts at 10:30pm. Claim you seats for the movie as early as 8pm. You will be able to see the fireworks very well from your spot at Bay Point Park. Full concessions services available on site. This is the 3rd event in the Cinema Under the Stars outdoor movie series in Red Wing.

Synopsis: With a $71 million budget and mind-blowing special effects, INDEPENDENCE DAY is a grand, high-tech throwback to such films of the 1950s as THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and WAR OF THE WORLDS. Here, aliens, in numerous gargantuan spaceships, arrive without warning and hover over the world’s most important cities, creating global panic. The nasty visitors use death rays to blow New York, Washington D.C, and Los Angeles to smithereens. A handful of plucky Americans, including the Clinton-esque President (Bill Pullman), a gung-ho fighter pilot (Will Smith) and a computer geek named David (Jeff Goldblum), attempt to devise a strategy against the invaders. On July 4th, their risky plan is put into effect, as dozens of fighter pilots (including the President) wage an assault on the spaceships. However, their success (and the fate of the world) depends on David, who is attempting to disarm the aliens’s mothership.

Miller Park Drive-In is a hit!

While the Milwaukee Brewers were on the road, they contracted us to produce two drive-in movie events on June 5th and 6th. The audience arrived early to partake in the Wisconsin ritual of tailgaiting. The grills were hot and the beverages were cold.  There were over 600 cars in the parking lot for an estimated attendance of 2000 people.

There was a double feature each night. Friday we showed the movies “Anchorman” and “Jaws”.  Saturdays movies were “The Sandlot” and “Major League”. We are scheduled to do this again on August 7th and 8th. The Milwaukee Brewers have not released the next movie selections yet.

weather-iconThe weather got the best of us! but we were not down and out! We just moved the show to the Shakopee Community Center. The Gymnasium was full of giggles and laughs as we watched the wild pranks of the “Madagascar 2″ crew.

We’ll be back next time to the Huber Park location.  See you then.

What a great night under a beautiful Moon! A fun crowd of about 450 came out to Crystal Lake Beach in Burnsville , MN for fun, pizza and a great feature film “Hook”. What a great pirate themed gathering ( Arrgh!).

I believe at one point The count was 50 little pirates (give or take a parent or two) dancing to pre-show music. The Spirit of Burnsville was definitely out!

Many Thanks to the Burnsville Park and Recreation Department and M & I Bank for having Twilight Zone Cinema at your celebration.  As always it was a pleasure!  I Love Burnsville!
